High Integration, New Trend in the New Energy Electric Drive Industry
The high integration of new energy electric drive systems has become a new trend in the industry. As the term "high integration" implies, it refers to the process of integrating and optimizing various electric drive components that are scattered across different parts, resulting in a multi-in-one product. Currently, the competition in the new energy vehicle industry is becoming increasingly fierce. Auto manufacturers have higher and higher requirements for indicators such as lightweighting, cost reduction, and optimization of space layout. This market demand undoubtedly serves as one of the driving forces for the evolution of new energy vehicle electric drive systems towards higher integration, higher power density, and higher efficiency. And the multi-in-one controller, as the core product of the integrated solution, has gradually become an indispensable role in the industry's core technology path.
The integration penetration rate is constantly rising
According to data from NE Times, the penetration rate of three-in-one and above integration in the electric drive systems of domestic new energy passenger vehicles has steadily increased from 40% in 2020 to over 60% in the first half of 2022. In just two years, a significant growth has been achieved. Specifically, in the first half of 2022, the proportions of two-in-one and below, three-in-one, and multi-in-one electric drive systems in the new energy passenger vehicle market were 41%, 55%, and 4% respectively. This data confirms that high integration has become the new mainstream development trend in the industry.
Integrated solution, meeting diverse application requirements
The electric drive system has evolved from the traditional discrete design to the current integrated multi-function high-integration scheme. This effectively achieves lightweighting of the entire vehicle, significantly enhancing power density and system operating efficiency, and meeting the requirements of various application scenarios such as passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and engineering special vehicles.
Technological iteration, moving towards better performance
In 2025, SAIC Research Institute released the "Premium High-Quality Power System" verification system, which also further standardized the electric drive technology standards, promoting the industry towards high-quality development. In the future, as technology continues to mature, the new energy electric drive system will iterate towards better performance.
